Tuesday, September 21 @ 7 p.m. "Sukkat Shalom: Building a Tabernacle of Peace." At Avila University in the Whitfield Center, 11901 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO. A dialogue focusing on sacred texts of the traditions and how they have promoted and inhibited efforts for peace through history will be presented by Rabbi Alan Cohen, director of Inter-religious Affairs of the Jewish Community Relations Bureau/American Jewish Committee (JCRB/AJC), and the Reverend Scott Meyers of the Westport Presbyterian Church. This interfaith panel is co-sponsored by Avila University, Jewish Community Relations Bureau/American Jewish Committee and Westport Presbyterian Church. The event is part of peace week activities. The public is invited.

Sunday, October 3 @ 2 p.m. Peace Walk. The Kansas City Interfaith Youth Alliance is planning the event with Let the Children Play for Peace. Start at the Islamic Center of Johnson County, to Beth Shalom on Lamar, to Church of the Resurrection. The purpose is to collect toys, raise money to ship the toys, and raise awareness and show support for the children who are affected by war. Visit www.kciya.org for more details.

Tuesday, October 19 @ 7:00 p.m. Keynote Address: Bruce Feiler @ Village Presbyterian Church. Can We Talk? Religion and Civil Dialogue in America.

Wednesday, October 20 @ 9:30 a.m. Bruce Feiler will participate in an informal discussion with the students at Notre Dame de Sion High School in the morning.

Wednesday, October 20 @ 7:00p.m. "The Hindu and the Cowboy" Lawrence Community Theatre, 1501 New Hampshire, Lawrence, Kansas sponsored by An Interfaith Dialogue, 785-843-7469. The audience is invited to a talk back with cast and playwright following the performance. FREE ADMISSION – Donations welcome.

Thursday, October 28 @ 7:00 p.m. Voicing the Spiritual Self: The Language of Doubt and Belief
The Writers Place and the Festival of Faiths present a multifaceted reading by a diverse group of Kansas City authors as they share, in poetry and prose, their inner pilgrimages. Featuring a broad spectrum of spiritual geography, these writers will invite you into their personal stories of doubt and/or belief. Join us at The Writer's Place, 3607 Pennsylvania, KC MO. Suggested donation: $5.00

Sunday, November 7 @ 2:00 p.m. "The Hindu and the Cowboy" will be performed in the Truman Forum, Plaza Library. FREE ADMISSION – Donations welcome.

Monday, November 8 @ 7:00 p.m. "The Hindu and the Cowboy" Kansas City's one-act play inspired by true stories of people from many faith traditions. Truman Forum, Plaza Library. Following a short reception at the close of the play, the audience is invited to stay for a 30-minute staged reading of new stories. FREE ADMISSION – Donations welcome.

Wednesday, November 10, Vital Conversations Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths by Bruce Feiler. Mid Continent Public Library, 6060 North Chestnut Avenue, Gladstone, MO, 1 p.m.

Abraham tells the powerful story of one man's search for the shared ancestor of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Traveling through war zones, braving violence at religious sites, and seeking out faith leaders, Bruce Feiler uncovers the defining yet divisive role that Abraham plays for half the world's believers.

The Vital Conversations Book Club meets each month at the Antioch Branch of the Mid Continent Public Library, the second Wednesday of every month at 1 PM. All are welcome to attend these conversations and celebrate the rich pluralism of the greater Kansas City area

To be held at Regnier Center at Johnson County Community College; the dinner will be co-hosted by the Johnson County Community College Office of International Education and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and The Hearland Chapter of Alliance of Divine Love.
